Some Observations
You will notice how flat the HP curve is from 6900 to 7300. I wish the test had continued for another few hundred rpm but it is what it is. I am left to speculate on the nature of the curve beyond 7300.
If I extend the curve for another 500 rpm using and assume the curve is still flat then these are the numbers that would be generated: (optimistic, I know)
RPM Torque HP
7400 979 1380
7500 966 1380
7600 954 1380
7700 941 1380
7800 929 1380
I will add to this post later tonight. What I have to think about is whether I need a new torque converter and if I change my rpm shift point upwards will the extra rpm and the consequent rear gear change give me a worthwhile torque advantage over the old set up?
I still need more info to make a final decision.
